Op 2 mei was ik namens de stichting “Mothers for Odessa” uitgenodigd om een bezoek te brengen aan Odessa (Zuid-Oekraïne)om de herdenking van de gruwelijke gebeurtenissen van 2 mei 2014 te herdenken. Op het plein, bij het vakbond huis werden minstens 48 burgers levend verbrand, toen zij de fascisten probeerden te stoppen, die aangestuurd door de huidige regering o.l.v. Porochenko, probeerde een revolutie daar uit te roepen en het gebouw te bezetten. Zij gooiden, daarna benzine naar binnen en staken dit aan, zij wisten dat er nog mensen in het gebouw aanwezig waren, die zijn toen levend verbrand!
Deze affaire wordt, ook in Nederland, in de doofpot gestopt, dit is slecht voor het imago, Oekraïne is toch een Europees land en moet bij de EU komen. Heb ik nieuws voor je Oekraïne is geen democratisch EU land. Ik heb het eens goed uitgezocht ter plekke aldaar en de huidige regering bestaat voor 50% uit fascisten, die wij Neo nazi’s zouden noemen, echte Neo nazi’s, die de moeders van de overleden slachtoffers en hun familieleden probeerden te stoppen om bloemen neer te leggen op het plein, een grote politie en militaire macht op de been brachten, er waren zelf “snipers” op de daken aanwezig en de meerderheid van de bevolking van Odessa, was uit angst uit de stad gevlucht, dit alles 2 mei 2016!
Ik en andere schrijvers/journalisten/reporters: 2 uit Italië, 3 uit de VS en 1 uit Rusland, hebben de intimidatie getrotseerd en zijn op het plein met de “moeders” gebleven. De Europarlement leden die gekomen waren naar Odessa, niet veel, daarbij moet ik vermelden dat er een delegatie van Fransen tegenhouden is bij de grens op het vliegveld, heb ik daar niet op het plein gezien, wel waren zij heel even voordat wij een diner hadden met de moeders 5 minuten aanwezig om hen vragen te stellen, veilig binnen dat wel! Ook de OSCE de organisatie voor veiligheid en vrede, was na een half uurtje alweer weg! Daar stonden we dan,tussen huilende en machteloze “moeders” die geïntimideerd werden door politie, brigades, privé legers en “snipers”. Moederdag in Odessa, iets dat ik mijn leven niet zal vergeten. Nederlanders die NEE gestemd hebben tegen het associatieverdrag met Oekraïne, hebben het juiste gedaan, de Oekraïne is geen EU democratie maar een dictatuur, waar de Russische minderheid alle rechten ontnomen worden, het recht op demonstratie, het recht op werk en behandeld worden als tweederangsburgers. Geen Oekraïne in de EU, zolang zij mensen onderdrukken.
On May 2nd, I was invited on behalf of the foundation “Mothers for Odessa” to visit Odessa (southern Ukraine) to commemorate the anniversary of the horrific events of May 2, 2014. On the square, in the union house at least 48 civilians were burned alive when they tried to stop the fascists, which are controlled by the current government led by Minister Porochenko, they tried to occupy the building. They threw, then gasoline inside and lit it on, they knew that there were people in the building, which were then burned alive!
This affair is in, the Netherlands, covered up, this is bad for the image of the EU, Ukraine is still a European country and should join the EU, they say. I have news for you, Ukraine is not a democratic EU country. On the spot there on the square, that day and the current government consists of 50% out of fascists, which we would call Neo- Nazis, real Neo-Nazis, who tried to stop the mothers of the deceased victims and their relatives to lay down flowers on the square. A large police and military power were present that day, even “snipers” on the roofs present and the majority of the population of Odessa had fled (in fear of violence) from the town, all this happened, May 2, 2016!
Me and other writers / journalists / reporters: two from Italy, three from the US and one from Russia, have defied intimidation and remained on the square with the “mothers”. The European parliament members who had come to Odessa for this occasion, not many, I must mention that there was a delegation of French stopped at the border of the the airport and a German team. But, I didn’t see them on the square that day, they popped-up, suddenly, at the dinner, 5 minutes, to have their so-called talk with the mothers present to question them, safely inside though!
Also, the OSCE, the Organization for Security and Peace left the square after half an hour! There we were, between crying and greeving “mothers” which were intimidated by police brigades, private armies and “snipers”. Mother’s Day in Odessa, something I will not forget the rest of my life. Dutch people who voted NO to the association agreement treaty with Ukraine, have done the right thing, Ukraine is not an EU democracy but a dictatorship, where the Russian minority are deprived of all rights, the right to demonstrate, the right to work and be treated like second-class citizens. No Ukraine in the EU, as long as they oppress people.
